Canning Student Center
The new Canning Student Center, a cutting-edge 144,000-square-foot building, located just steps from the Foglia Foundation Health and Recreation Center will break ground this month and will be a welcoming beacon in our community. This new front door to campus will centralize services that are critical to student success, convene campus life activities to help foster students鈥� sense of belonging, and house the University Center and Hospitality Management programs.

Other features include:
Bridge to the Foglia Foundation Health and Recreation Center (Building M)
Vegetated roof to advance the college鈥檚 sustainability efforts
Redesigned drop-off area from Algonquin Road entrance
 
Construction Information
Beginning the week of January 20, construction fencing will be placed around the perimeter of the construction site. This fencing will affect the drop off area and front entrance to the Health and Recreation Center. Therefore, all members, patrons and guests visiting the Health and Recreation Center and NCH Endeavor Health should park in Lot 1 and utilize the new drop off area also located in Lot 1 and is proximal to the south fa莽ade of the building. The Canning Student Center construction will impact parking and pedestrian walkways so please refer to wayfinding. The anticipated completion for the Canning Student Center is Summer 2027.

Campus Construction

Pool Update as of 7/30/2026 at 12 p.m.

The Rec Center's HVAC unit #1 experienced a mechanical failure on July 22. A contractor has been secured, and work is scheduled to begin on July 29. The repair and chemical rebalance will take 2-5 days, which brings us into the weekend. As previously noted, the annual pool maintenance and repair closure is scheduled for August. Therefore, the pool is closed through Monday, September 7. We appreciate your patience as we navigate this unplanned mechanical problem. Continue to check back to this landing page for more updates.

Rec Center Update as of 7/30/2026 at 12 p.m.

Due to the HVAC unit #1 failure, areas of the building may feel warmer or cooler than normal. Doors are being propped open to facilitate air circulation, along with fans as needed. We anticipate that the unit will be repaired and functioning normally by Friday, July 31.

Starting Tuesday, July 28, the west patio staircase will be closed while a contractor moves equipment onto the roof as part the ongoing concrete project. All patrons and staff should use the M3 Endeavor Health entrance to access Building M. We will send a follow-up communication once the work is complete.
