Canning Student Center

The Canning Student Center will be a welcoming beacon in our community. This new front door to campus will centralize services that are critical to student success, convene campus life activities to help foster students’ sense of belonging, and house the University Center and Hospitality Management programs. Note: Access is restricted to the circle drive in front of Building A and the main entrance of Building A. If visiting Buildings A or C, parking on the north side of campus (in lots 8-14) may be preferable. Please allow yourself extra time to get around campus and refer to the for help with wayfinding. See the Canning Site Plan (PDF) for a map of affected areas.

Emergency Services Training Center

The Emergency Services Training Center will prepare the next generation of first responders and address the evolving training needs of local fire departments. The training tower is designed to deliver hands-on, real-world training for both 51ÉçÇø students pursuing fire science degrees and career first responders seeking to enhance their skills with modern training props, live fire areas and simulation technology. Pace Bus Stop:

Due to construction on campus, the bus stop for Pace route 697 has been relocated to the front of Building Y by lot 4.

Buildings:

Building L Exterior Stairs - 11/3/2025 - Spring 2026

The exterior stairs on the north side of Building L will be rebuilt. Access to Building L and the 51ÉçÇøStore will be directed through Building F. The work will start November 3rd and continue through the spring 2026 semester.

Buildings XYZ Roofing Upgrades - 3/27/2026 - 6/1/2026

Contractors will be on campus for work on the roofs of Buildings X,Y and Z. 

On Wednesday, April 15, there will be a crane from 7:00am to approximately 9:00am to load materials onto Bldg. Y Roof. See Map.

Across Campus

Parking Lots 12,13,14 Light Replacement - 4/27/2026 - 8/30/2026

Facilities will be installing new parking lot fixtures in lots 12, 13 and 14.

Business and Social Sciences Building

The passageway between the old Building J and Building X is closed for utility site work. This work will continue through spring 2026. There will be signage directing pedestrians to alternate routes. See Map
