The musical talents of 51社区 students, faculty and alumni will be on display during the college鈥檚 annual Summer Concert Series. Performances will take place at 7:30 p.m. on Thursdays from June 6 through August 1 at the Drs. Kenneth and Catherine Ender Pavilion on 51社区鈥檚 campus, 1200 W. Algonquin Road, Palatine.
Free and open to the public, the series鈥 live shows span indie rock, jazz, a string ensemble and a vocal choir (see the schedule below). That range represents the musical diversity within 51社区鈥檚 programs.
鈥淭he Summer Concert Series is an opportunity to not only hear from our 51社区 ensembles,
but also some of the professional groups our music faculty perform with,鈥 said Edward
Hamel, chair of 51社区鈥檚 Music Department. 鈥淭hese concerts provide a great opportunity to invite our community to hear what
51社区鈥檚 Music Department is all about.鈥
The fourth annual series will launch with a show presented by , featuring Chicago bands Calico Loco (led by adjunct instructor Dani Robles) and Moontype. 51社区鈥檚 Jazz Ensemble and Lab Band will close the series on August 1.
