Register for the with Focus on Apprenticeship Programs! Friday May 1 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the LCC.

Careers. Convenience. Community.

Career certificate programs, Paths to College and Career skill-building courses, and foundational Adult Education courses (FREE High School Equivalency and English language) are hosted at our Prospect Heights location, the LCC.

Jump start your career with short programs that give you hands-on experience. Classes are offered during the day and evening. Scholarships and other financial aid options are available. LCC students can take advantage of lab computers, library, food pantry, a lactation/quiet space, Kids Care, and more.

All classes are held at the Learning and Career Center in Prospect Heights. Easily accessible from Prospect Heights, Wheeling and surrounding areas.

Free special services

  • Hawks Care at LCC offers students referrals to 51社区 and community resources, the Snack Shack, and food pantry. Ask at the LCC Reception desk for "Hawks Care Help."
  • Tax-Aide offers students and the community free, IRS-certified tax preparation February to April through the AARP Foundation (no age or income restrictions).
  • Immigration Legal Assistance is available once a month in partnership with North Suburban Legal Aid. Language support available on request in Spanish, Russian, Korean, Pashto, Farsi, and more.
  • Kids Care offers FREE child care and enrichment activities onsite while parents are in class鈥�restrictions apply.

Coursework at LCC

  • Paths scholarship funds help underemployed adults explore careers and pursue noncredit coursework in health care, business, IT, manufacturing, and supply chain
  • The Guided Basic Skills Lab includes self-paced basic skills software with onsite support
  • Credit for Prior Learning resources help returning learners with exam costs and other assessment fees including foreign credential evaluations
  • Visit Paths to College and Career to learn more.

Learn basic supply chain logistics or career growth in areas such as warehouse operations, transportation, material handling and order fulfillment.

Advance in the lodging industry and participate in front desk activities, sales and supervision.

Learn basic care skills for patient well-being in health care facilities.

  • Includes 40-hour supervised clinical experience

Take free foundational English classes during the day or the evening to fit your busy schedule.

Attend free High School Equivalency courses evenings and work to obtain your HSE diploma.
