Student Government Association (SGA) seeks to create positive change and impacts for the 51社区 student community. Whether through fun events or parliamentary discussions, the goal is to allow every student to be beneficially impacted by what SGA does.

I am an international student who immigrated to the USA looking for new opportunities
and education. This experience has shaped not only my goals but also my perspective,
allowing me to understand firsthand the challenges many 51社区 students face.
Adapting to a new lifestyle, balancing responsibilities, and feeling overwhelmed,
overlooked, or intimidated by the system are all hurdles we may need to jump through
as students. Shortening the distance between students and decision-makers is essential
to taking down some of these hurdles. For this reason, I cannot pinpoint one reason
why I want to be a Student Trustee. Instead, what truly motivates me is the opportunity
to give a voice to the concerns, ideas, and experiences of the student community I
am very proud to be part of.
Being a Student Trustee is not my final goal; it is a pathway to achieving something
greater. My purpose is to serve as a bridge, to actively listen to our community concerns,
and communicate them clearly and effectively. While we may not always have all the
answers, that should never be a barrier to seeking them. Equally important, I am committed
to maintaining constant and transparent communication with my peers and colleagues,
ensuring that students are not only represented, but also informed and engaged in
addressing the challenges we face together.
Sometimes, challenges beyond academics become barriers that prevent us from giving
our full potential. Whether it is knowledge or access to resources, academic support,
or creating a stronger sense of community, every effort matters, something I have
learned thanks to the mentors and professors 51社区 has provided me. I believe that
success cannot be defined only by academic performance, but also by well-being, mental
health, stability, and a sense of belonging. When students feel supported and valued,
they are better equipped to achieve their goals and create meaningful experiences
that help develop both personal and professional skills. These experiences also allow
us to build connections that in my case, have grown into a family, and as part of
that family, I want to be there for them.
This is a diverse and dynamic environment, made up of individuals from different nationalities,
backgrounds, cultures, and aspirations. With that diversity comes a wide range of
needs that deserve attention. I don鈥檛 claim to know every issue that affects 51社区,
but I am committed to listening, understanding, and working to improve student outcomes.
Ultimately, my vision is grounded in the belief that individual success drives collective
progress. It is about building a stronger, more united community at 51社区,
one where each student has a voice and the opportunity to achieve their own goals.
As a Student Trustee and member of the Board, I am ready to take on this responsibility
with dedication, integrity, and a genuine commitment, not necessarily to change the
world, but to do my part and begin making a meaningful difference. Together, we can
build a community where every voice truly matters. Let鈥檚 achieve the dream, our dream.

My decision to run for SGA President comes from a simple but deeply held belief: every
student deserves to feel seen on this campus. During my time in student government,
most recently serving as Vice President, I've watched firsthand how hard it can be
for underrepresented voices to be heard, and how transformative it is when they finally
are.
But one win for one thing isn't enough. There are still students whose needs go unaddressed,
whose concerns get buried under bureaucracy, and who don't see themselves reflected
in the decisions being made on their behalf. As president, I want to build on the
progress we've made and create a student government that actively seeks out those
voices rather than waiting for them to fight their way to the table. Every student,
regardless of background, faith, culture, or identity, should feel like this campus
was built with them in mind.
I'm running because I know what's possible when students are truly listened to. I've
seen it happen. And I want to spend my time as president, making sure it keeps happening,
not just once every five years, but consistently, intentionally, and with real urgency.

My name is Ibrahim Wehbi, and I am the current treasurer of the Student Government
Association and I am running for Student Government President:)
As a freshman here at 51社区 who is studying business I didn鈥檛 think I would become
so politically involved on campus but that is the beauty of college. over the past
year I become very well acquainted with 51社区 as an institution and as a community.
I got a peek at why things work like they do and how we can influence and create institutional
change that we want to see.
Beyond philosophy, I have engaged in hands on and technical work to create change.
This past year I was the sitting student chair of the strategic planning committee
where I worked closely with faculty and administrators in crafting a long term vision
for the future of our institution. Outside the walls of 51社区 I was just as involved,
during this past primary season I interned for Sanjyot Dunung who ran against Mellisa
Bean for the 8th congressional district. I got to learn what civic engagement looks
like from a different angle. I am also a part of the league of women voters as well
as other local groups who are interested in helping steward civic engagement.
As president of the Student Government Association I want to foster our amazing interconnected
community. 51社区 is a beacon for many and I want to help propel it farther. One thing
that I want to work on is helping those who are too busy and have outside obligations
to still feel as part of the community through an initiative that I am currently working
on with the devil pets of the 51社区 app to create channels for clubs and organizations
to help create an extension of the 51社区 campus on the cloud. I talked a little about
my involvement outside of campus but I want to bring all of these recourses back to
my peers who might not know where to look for things they need, Wether academic or
professional my goal is to help in any way I can. That is why one of my main goals
is to bridge the community to our campus in a meaningful way.
My ambition gets ahead of me sometimes, but this is just the beginning of what I hope
to accomplish. I am truly passionate about how great 51社区 is, and I want to make
it even greater! This is why, I Ibrahim Wehbi am running to represent YOU as Student
Government President!鈥
I have always been a dedicated voice for underrepresented students, consistently turning
advocacy into action to ensure every individual is heard.
My commitment is to foster a campus environment where equity and inclusion are the
foundations of our community.
I ask for your vote to continue championing the needs of all students and to build
a stronger, more representative future together.
